Peuplade

Twango - Media Sharing: Photos, Video, Audio and More
by cyberien & 6 others (via)Capturing media has never been easier. Today's digital cameras and camera phones not only take great still photos, they also record video and audio. One study estimates that within four years, 228 billion images (Yes, that's with a "b") will be captured on camera phones alone. It's clear that photos, video and audio are now sewn into the fabric of our everyday lives.
But once you've captured all of this media, what do you do with it? How do you share it with your friends and family without jamming their email inboxes with huge attachments? How do you share it with the world on your blog, Web site or discussion group? How do you have fun with your media? Isn't that the point of the whole exercise, anyway?
When we started Twango, we set out to design a service that would focus on our members' media-sharing needs. We respect and enjoy peoples' differences. We embrace connections between people. And we love what happens when friends and strangers find common ground around a great still image, a video or an audio clip.
We recognize that people share many different types of media in a wide variety of ways. More than 100 types of files find a home here, including photos, videos, audio, Microsoft Office documents and PDFs. We would never presume to tell you how to share this media. (It's yours after all.) That's why we created a very open, flexible service that puts you in control. We feel strongly that Twango is unique in providing easy ways to get media into your account from any source, versatility when it comes to sharing your media, and powerful ways to "project" that media out to all the places on the Web that matter to you.
Imagine sending a photo to Twango, then having it appear on your blog or Web site in moments and notifying your viewers—automatically. Imagine a group of friends traveling together and creating a shared media experience for those back home with nothing more than their camera phones. We also imagined that, and now those are features on our site. But this is only the tip of the iceberg. There's so much to explore here on Twango. So give us a try. Sign up and become a member. It's free and easy. Share your media. And most of all…have some fun!

The best part about Socialgrapes is the profile tracking. You have the ability to set alerts and keep track of any member, of any social network, anywhere. For example, you can setup a customized existing profile alert to see when Jill Smith on Myspace becomes single again. Or when Jack76 on Friendster finally finishes college or turns 21. You can also set up a new profile alert and stay informed when new profiles are added to any network that match your specific criteria.
Please note that we are currently in public beta testing so if you notice any bugs or have any comments/suggestions please contact us at [email protected]
We hope you enjoy your Socialgrapes experience.
